What Vidkito is

Vidkito provides free video tools that run entirely inside your browser. You choose a file, the tool cuts it on your own device, and you download the result. There is no account, no subscription, and no software to install.

Because the tools run locally, we are not a storage service and not a file host. We never receive your files, and we have no ability to access them, review them, or delete them.

Your files remain yours

You keep all rights to the videos you open with Vidkito. We claim no licence, no ownership, and no right to use them for anything — we could not, because nothing is ever transmitted to us.

It also means we cannot help you recover a file. If you delete a video from your device, no copy of it exists anywhere else.

Acceptable use

Use Vidkito for anything lawful. Do not use it to process material you do not have the right to use, or material that is illegal where you are.

Do not attempt to break, overload, or automate the service in a way that degrades it for others — including scraping the site at scale, attacking the server, or republishing the tools as your own.

We may block access that threatens the service or other visitors.

No warranty on the output

Vidkito is offered as it is. We work to make the cuts accurate, but video encoding is fiddly and the result depends on the file you bring: cuts land on keyframes by default, some formats are handled better than others, and very large files depend on the memory of your device.

Always keep your original file until you have checked the output. We cannot recover a source file you have deleted.

Availability

The tools are free and we intend to keep them that way. We may still change, add to, or discontinue parts of the site at any time, without notice.

We do not guarantee the site will be available without interruption — no site can promise that.

Intellectual property

The Vidkito name, the design of the site, and the code behind it belong to us. You are welcome to use the tools for personal or commercial work; you may not copy the site itself, or present it as your own.

Videos you process are yours — see "Your files remain yours" above.

Links to other sites

Where we link to another site, we do not control it and are not responsible for its content or its privacy practices. Links are provided because they are useful, not as an endorsement.

Advertising

Vidkito does not display advertising today. If we introduce it, these terms and our Privacy Policy will be updated first, and nothing about how your files are handled will change — your files are processed locally, and there is no version of this site that uploads them.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Vidkito is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the site — including lost files, lost time, or lost revenue. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us, which for a free service is nothing.

This does not limit any right you have that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. Continuing to use Vidkito after a change means you accept the new version.
